Making HERstory With Hillary in Brooklyn

Last night was one of the most memorable nights of my life. I spent it with my beautiful mom, friends and new friends, and Hillary, our first female Democratic nominee.
We made our way down to the Brooklyn Navy Yard rather early. There was a small cue of people already forming were we would be picked up by a shuttle bus in groups of 50. This historic event would be held within the walls of the Navy Yard at the Duggal Greenhouse..that conveniently has a glass ceiling. We were easily in the first group.
I ended up standing next to two old friends of mine from Red Hook, Monica and Leisah, and my dear friend Jennifer McCann, who I met at the Apollo event with Hillary back in March. The energy was so happy and patriotic, and the anticipation of victory was in the air.
We were all watching as the New Jersey primary was called for Hillary, then South Dakota, followed by New Mexico, and of course eventually California. As the results rolled in I imagined a crack spreading across the glass ceiling...things got emotional.
As the time was closing in on 8pm, when the New Jersey polls would close, the crowd began to cheer and wave thousands of little U.S. flags. All Hillary needed was a small number of delegates to win the nomination.
When Hillary entered the room, there was a moment when both of my feet came off the floor. "Was I floating?" I thought. The room was ablaze with cheering, smiling supporters of all levels, and I felt such deep joy for Hillary. After her grand entrance, she pointed out the glass ceiling above our heads of the greenhouse, and wished her mom was here with her. She specifically thanked New Jersey voters for this grand win, which I thought was very cool and special.
Hillary has a strange magic unlike anything I have experienced, and she is going to make an incredible President of the United States.
