Laura in New Jersey
Laura Brodsky is a resident of Mount Laurel, New Jersey. She and her youngest son, Jack, visited Atlantic City last week for Hillary's speech opposing Donald Trump's business tactics that have left his several Atlantic City casinos bankrupt, and thousands of people without work.
"As you can imagine, everyone was excited to see Hillary. Some people were pushing to shake her hand." Laura shared. "As much as I wanted to shake her hand too, I melted back a little. I felt disappointed, but it's not my nature to muscle my way in a crowd."
As Laura watched Hillary pass by, something very special happened. "Hillary passed me, then glanced back!" Laura's eyes were tearing up. "She winked at me, stepped back, and shook my hand. I have never felt anything quite like that." Jack admitted he thought his mom was going to cry from happiness.
Laura and her older son, who just turned 18, voted for Hillary on June 7 in the New Jersey Democratic primary. This primary day is historic, as it earned Clinton the nomination, making her the first female to become a major party's nominee. Laura took a moment to discus why her vote was for Hillary that day. "My whole life has been devoted to service and volunteerism. In Hillary, I see a woman who has gone beyond my wildest dreams. She has crossed rivers and climbed mountains, and never let the darkness and the demons slow her down. She fights for all of us. I'm excited to see how she will help bring us forward in the next eight years."
