Hillary Rodham Clinton is a member of the Honorary Committee among a long list of incredible women such as; Gloria Steinem (Chair), Dorothy Pitman Hughes (!!!), NYS Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul, and First Lady Chirlane McCray. The full list is available here. The Museum is "pay what you want", so plan your trip today!
If you can make it past the awesome gift shop you are in good shape. We will be adding this entire gift shop to our Feminist Gift guide for your holiday shopping, so stay tuned for that. You may view lat year's gift guide here.
Entering the exhibit is remarkably moving. A wall-papered photograph from the Women's March will have you looking for yourself. We continued along out of order to the finale- Hillary's Oscar de la Renta, teal pantsuit....which is placed at the end of the exhibits suffrage time-line. Had Hillary been rightfully elected we don't doubt his exhibit would feature the photography of Annie Leibovitz of Hillary in the Oval Office, and of course, there would have been no Women's March, no pussy hats, not #MeToo movement. So much would be different for us.
Of course I'm getting ahead of myself. This exhibit has an original, wooden voting machine on display, as well as artifacts from the suffrage movement of 1915, quotes from some of our earliest, most treasured feminists, videos, a ballot box to gather visitors opinions on feminism, and notable feminist moments through our modern history...leading to Hillary, the woman who changed everything.
