Shannon Truax is Dressed to Impress on NY Primary Day
The Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan got a little brighter on New York Primary Day. Decorated in Hillary swag, Shannon Truax wore vintage Chanel, and carried an American Flag Moyna bag to show her support for her candidate on Primary Voting Day in New York.
When asked about women's clothing in politics, Shannon replied, "Women's clothing in politics fascinates me. When I was in Washington DC recently, I spent the most time in the 'First Ladies' section of the Smithsonian, admiring the gowns that the first ladies wore at the inaugural balls. I looked at the colors, details, and styles, drawing conclusions about what each dress revealed about the lady in it.
Fashion in politics really needs to find the appropriate balance of class and humility. Hillary Clinton has nailed it. At every appearance, she looks regal, polished, and confident. I would love to see Madame President in tweed Chanel pants suits, but it would send the wrong message. Hillary speaks for families, education, small businesses, the environment -- she can't appear excessive. And somebody out there would publicly complain that she wasn't wearing something made in the U.S.A. I actually still get quite a laugh thinking back to the SNL skit in 2008 when Tina Fey rubbed her jacket saying, "These campaigns sure are expensive," alluding to the alleged $150,000.00 bill for Sarah Palin to shop at Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.
I don't think that a man would necessarily have that same conversation swirling around him."
She also gives a shout out to our friends at Hillary Street Style on Instagram,
"It is so much fun seeing Hillary's looks over the years, alongside today's popular celebs. The retro Lemon Chiffon turtleneck [Above photo on the right] look is pretty stellar with her blonde hair. I want this outfit!"
